About

Religion in Public is the online blog platform of the Centre for Religion and Public Life (CRPL), which is a research and public engagement centre based in the School of Philosophy, Religion and History of Science at the University of Leeds.

The Religion in Public blog provides an ongoing analysis on the role of religion in public life, both locally, nationally and internationally. It features and promotes the events and activities of CRPL members as well as our collaborators and partners, and of invited guest contributors.

Religion in Public has several avenues of publication. Our ‘Spotlight’ pieces shine a light on members of the Leeds community whose work highlights the role religion plays in public life, offering critical insight into its nature, and how it can be debated, for all audiences. We also publish Researcher of the Monthprofiles, showcasing the work and inspirations of the different staff and students we have in the centre. Further to this, we promote ‘Photo Voice where we publish pieces based on photos taken during research projects. Moreover, we publish opinion pieces and event reviews and are open to contributions to every category except the Researcher of the Month.

If you wish to contribute, please email the CRPL Director, Prof. Johanna Stiebert (j.stiebert@leeds.ac.uk). In your email, please provide a brief overview of the piece or event that you wish to write about. We will be in touch shortly after to send you specifications and discuss timelines.
