Dear CRPL Members and Friends,
As we head towards the end of the academic year, I hope that the marking period is treating you all well! Here’s some updates, news, and items of interest in the CRPL world:
CRPL Seminars
At the CRPL, our annual seminar series has now come to a close. Thank you to all of our wonderful speakers and those who attended. The discussions were rich and vibrant; speaking directly to the diverse ways in which our centre addresses contemporary issues of religion and public life, in addition to our connections with scholars worldwide.
We’re turning our attention to the next seminar series’ line-up. We’ve had a few suggestions of speakers already, but if you have a dream speaker on your list, please do let us know!
Researcher of the Month

Our Researcher of the Month for May 2026 is Elizabeth Eastwood Dewing! You can learn more about her and her work here.

Religious Literacy in Further Education: A Social Justice Approach
Earlier this month, the CRPL hosted the Religious Literacy in Further Education team to deliver a workshop on their work. The event, attended by both CRPL researchers and students alike, explored what ‘religious literacy’ entails, its use in educational contexts, and the ways in which developing religious literacy can assist in developing an equitable society. The team are currently writing a blog on the event for the CRPL blog - so watch this space!
